Making Roman Blinds Pt I Learn how to measure windows and calculate for required fabric. Joining of lining to fabric and fitting of tapes. Student will come away with sample blind. Short introduction into different types of blind kits available as time allows. (One day course).

Making Roman Blinds Pt II Students will be making their own blind from their own purchased fabric which they will have learnt how to calculate on previous course. Tuition will be given to help student to pattern match, mitre corners and be able to complete during day or know how to finish at home.

Making Lined Curtains Learn out to mitre corners, pattern match, sew hems, and to make either goblet pleats or pleated headers. A small sample curtain will be made and handouts with info about measuring windows and amount of fabric required.

Making Interlined Curtains. Advanced class for students who have some skill of sewing. Students will learn how to interline curtains using lock stitch. Curtains are hand stitched and of a luxurious finish. Other stitches will be learned to produce the finished article. Will also cover mitred corners, or curved edges if required. A header such as goblet or French pleats will be used. Once you have experienced interlined curtains you will never go back to lined.

Beat the recession and learn to make your own clothes.

Dressmaking classes will be included for those who wish to learn to sew and who have their own machines. (Please contact me so I can set up suitable classes for students of similar requirements. Anything can be covered such as making trousers and obtaining the perfect fit. Making jackets and lining them. Skirts, blouses and simple techniques such as inserting zips. both normal and invisible zips.

Learn the way round your machine. Learning how to get the best from your machine. Students will learn different techniques such as buttonholes, zip insertion, the use of different feet, appliqué, adding a frill, either doing so by hand or using a ruffler foot and heirloom techniques. Students will produce a beautiful pillow sham to take home. This is likely to be a two day course. Price £30 each day + Materials which is likely to be £6.

Making a beautiful cushion using organza and flowered cotton, embroidery threads and using a layering technique. With the use of a soldering iron and using a burnout process it produces a wonderful finished project. Two day course £30 each day + materials. (Student may wish to purchase own fabrics but instruction will be given as to what to purchase) the two day course will be run over different weeks.

Making a large fan which is most unusual and appealing. In is used as a focal point for a room and can be used in front of a fire during summer months when fire is not is use. This is a class to be decided in the future.
